AL BURAIMIAL BURAIMI — Four people were killed and a child sustained injuries when two vehicles collided on the main road near Al Kahf Park in the Wilayat of Mahdha, Al Buraimi Governorate, a Royal Oman Police (ROP) statement said yesterday.

ROP officials said the accident was caused by wrong overtaking by the driver of a car coming from Mahdha. The driver apparently miscalculated the distance from the vehicle going in the front while overtaking and crashed head-on with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction which was carrying four of a family of whom three died in the impact of the collision. The driver of the other vehicle, which caught fire, also died.
